Virtually every brand suggested in this thread is made in southeast Asia. The AEs I own are all American made, and will be redrafted here in America as well. My oldest pair is at five years and is just now reaching the point where I need to send them in.

Sure, they are NOT cheap, but from a crowd that says "buy once, cry once" when it comes to rifle parts, I can not see the same adage not applying to a fine pair of shoes for the best moments in life.
I love my AEs. I have three pairs including the blue ones pictured earlier. That's said, as a big guy and with the way I walk, the soles don't hold up. I'll go through their regular soles in a single summer. I've had the two pairs I wear out and about resoled with half rubbers and they seem to be holding up much better. The black Sanford's I had resoled with double leather soles since they're only really worn in the office and maybe the pool room after work.

Despite the issues I've had with the soles, I can't recommend them highly enough. My Neumoks are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and the sharpest looking too. Every issue I've had has been taken care of free of charge including three free resoles.
