Finally, I built a complete AR

Well I'm almost done.. I was intimidated for a long time to put my own AR together, for the reason, I didnt know that the barrels were already headspaced when you bought them(theoretically I know). I had no Idea is was as easy as it was. well I did have one little problem.

    Parts list:
    Mega lower
RRA lpk w/ RRA 2-stage trigger
    magpul trigger guard
BCM forged buttstock tube w/castle nut
    Magpul ACS buttstock
    Mega M4 cut upper
RRA Bolt/carrier (for now its out of another rifle but its only got a few hundred rnds on it,, BCM in the near future)
    Daniel Defense 1/7 m4 16" chrome lined 4150 (169.00 dollor deal)
    YHM low pro/short gas block
    BCM gas tube
    A2 flash hider (for now)
    BCM Gunfighter charging handle MED
    Midwest Industries MI-T12 hand-guards
    standered grip (for now)

    What I need:
    Sights--maybe MBUS?
    red-dot?
short scope like 1-4 or? I already have a bull barreled scoped upper.
    New grip?

    feel free to make suggestions.

I really like the MI-T12, it is VERY light and locks up solid with a nut on the underside that goes inbetween the grooves of the barrel nut. So it is as anti-twist as the barrel nut..The problem I had was the handguard hit the reciever on the final turn JUST barely so I had to file a miniscule amount off the face of the little tab that hits the reciever. After I delt with that, it was easy breasy.

    I wanted to add:

I used a DPMS armorer's wrench to tighten the barrel nut and the MI jam nut.. I just had to grind away the right radius of the jam nut for it to work.

I like the finish quality and the rollmark/engravings of the Mega, no fitting required. There is actually a little bit of play between the lower/upper which I was slightly dissapointed about. Its not too bad though.

Its all in your tringer finger. But at dusk and 28 degrees!! I might have trouble with shooting good groups at that temperature too.

sorry I forgot to reply sooner..

I was shooting @ 100yrds off the bench on a cloudy day around 300pm and I couldnt see my shots through the spotting scope when I was shooting in the black, so I started shooting in between the black targets so I could see where my hits were from the bench.

The orange dots I could just barrely see anyways.. but yeah, Ive since gotten some better groups. when I get some really good ones I will take pics again.

I was out last weekend shooting the rifle @ 340yrds and was getting hits almost every shot on a 14"x14" metal plate.. I was very pleased.
