Love my mal, had him about 4 months and he is the best dog I've had. Very protective and huge drive, can't seem to wear him out. He has a bit of a stubborn streak but I'm sure with more training and age that will pass.

    Awesome dogs...

I have 2 good friends with Mals. This one was a former military K9 candidate and is simply a great animal. I just love how they look like the stuck their face in ink- LOL
The other one I haven't met yet, but I'm not sure I'll get that chance due to aggression "issues"- every guest to his house who has been in line-of-sight has been bitten, or nearly bitten.

In case anyone is wondering about the vest, this one is a custom variation of a le/mil version and I'd gently dissuade you from inquiring unless you are willing to drop 4 figures (!) on it

Mali's are an awesome breed. I will have one someday. I have a decent sized piece of property and I have a Czech Border Patrol German Shepard and he's great but one dog is enough right now!!! Like another poster stated, his hair from shedding is ALL over the place!!!

Your going to enjoy the doggie!!

I'd love to see a pic of your boy. GSDs still have a very special place in my heart.

Lebowski, he's a great dog!! Total working dog with his "pink" European paperwork. For those of you unfamiliar with the "pink" paperwork, it shows the dogs family tree six generations back. All dogs on the paperwork is fully registered and rated. ( Schutshund, ISO, etc. ). When I post pics of the dog, I'll post a pic of the accompanying pink papers so those of you guys who hasn't seen em, knows what to look for.

As for the Mali's, you will be one happy camper with yours. They are very intelligent and intuitive dogs. They are high energy/ high drive dogs! Great working dogs. Whoever thinks Mali's may not be suitable Schutzhund dogs, I have one question " Are they nuts??" Mali's are superb Shutzhund/working dogs.

High drive on these dogs is a very desireable trait but, as with everything else in life, there is a caveat. As an owner, you have to have time to devote to this dogs to take him/her out everyday to run. "Bleed" off excessive energy if you will. ( a large enclosed area where he can safely be left for a few hours to run would be ideal ). Dont laugh but when I feel super tired from work or just plain lazy (which is rare!!) I take a tennis ball and stay stationary but just throw the ball. My dog takes off like a rocket after it ,catches it and runs right back to me and drops the ball at my feet!!! Another good on is if your walking with the doggie, again have a tennis ball. With this technique, it is imperative to have a clear, long range line of sight in the direction you chuck the ball. The purpose being, you dont want your dog or another dog/owner who are out for their walk to be suddenly surprised by a Mali/GSD in full charge. They would be petrified/scared shitless at the very least and the very most could be bad. If the other dog walker is packin, dogs fighting are just 2 quick possible outcomes that come to mind. Running the dog calms them down and balances them out. Dogs that are ran tend to be better behaved than their sedentary counterparts.(the majority of the time

But anyway, you are going to love your dog!! The dog will be an excellent companion. He will watch you and your family like a hawk and give unconditional loyalty&love. ( Most humans could learn a thing or two from the dogs!! )

Oh yeah, pics may take a few days cause I'm still a little behind the whole posting pictures on the internet thing. I'll get em up there tho. Just have some patience fella"s!! Heres a little teaser, he has a black sable coat!!!
