FA LMT BCGs have been excellent. I have a new BCM BCG just waiting for an LMT failure or a new upper. I have not had a problem with FA BCGs and LMT's standard buffer springs.

No. You would only need to change out the buffer if you were having problems with reliable cycling of the weapon, typically short stroking. These issues usually crop up if you put on an upper of a caliber other than 5.56/.223, run a silencer/SBR, or perform a lot of 'group therapy'
