I have and use a 552 mod for the last 3 years. I carried my own 552 to Iraq and used it. the battery contacts came loose I "fixed it" with 100MPH tape rapped around the blk rubber washer(s). Haven't had a problem from then on. had to fix one Mar 09 the other one in Nov 09. Battery life non-issue to me, I changed out every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks then used in flash light. I took large supply of (LI) AA batterys with me. I still use it and have it back on my M-4, but I've got a ACOG on one and a few scopes for others.
