    M&P questions

How big is the M&P9 compared to the Glock 19? Is the size closer to a G17 than a G19? Do you find the M&P easy to carry and conceal?

It falls between a g17 and g19. A bit easier to conceal than a g17, almost comparable to the g19.

Below is a picture of my M&P hidden beneath the g19. You can barely see the M&P edges peeking out.

Wow Sam, that picture is telling. I knew the M&P 9 was small and slim, but I never realized it was almost the same size as a G19.

    Official dimensions L H W
    M&P 9mm: 7.5" 5.5" 1.2"
    Glock 19: 6.85 in 5.00 in 1.18 in
    Glock 17: 7.32 in 5.43 in 1.18 in

I'm confused. I also thought the M&P split the difference between the 17 and 19? I was just looking these up because I was wondering about the same thing when I saw this thread. I imagine the beavertail tacks a good bit onto the length, technically.

What's really funny is that I own one of each and never really noticed the M&P 9 is actually this close to the G19 in size. I just never held them up to compare them. I had it in my head that the M&P 9 was "bigger" than the G19, but "smaller" than the G17. While that’s true it's certainly allot closer to the G19 than you think. Close enough that it doesn't even matter.

Modern ergonomics are a thing of beauty.
