    Tactical Rifles Sub .25" MOA?

Does anyone have experience with Tactical Rifles? I am considering having them build a precision rifle for me and they seem to claim a more accurate rifle than any of the usual suspects. Turn-around times are better too.

Tac Ops Rifles usually come with a test target of less than a 1/4in or so. Only bad thing is I think Mike has a long wait (a year maybe??) The guys at Sniper Central seem to hold these as top 1 or 2 when it comes to Precision Bolt Guns.

There is a fight, that began before any of us were ever born. It will continue, long after we have retired, moved on, and left this world. It is a fight for the soccer mom next door, your mailman, the guy that bags your groceries, and most importantly, it is a fight for your family. We are in a daily battle not for land, not for resources or colonial controls...we are in a fight for our very way of life

Tac Ops and Tactical Rifles are not the same company.

Anyone familiar with Tactical Rifles? http://www.tacticalrifles.net/halfmoa.asp

what is the application of your precision rifle...if consistant .25 groups on paper are what you are after, then a sniper rifle is not what you need.

Just to clarify, you got Tactical Operations confused with tacticalrifles.net?

I shoot a Tango 51 and we have 4 Tango's and 1 Delta. The MOA guarantee is made with the understanding that this is with 168gr FGMM ammo. The rifles are easily 1/4MOA capable if the shooter is doing their job.

Indeed Mike is a very busy guy and order time or fix it turn around time is a long wait. We had a rifle re-barreled and turn around time was around 8 months. I am hearing that new orders are around 14 or so months to fill. These are damn fine rifles and I have yet to see another with as slick of an action.

Since the confusion happened I might as well chime in.

I have aTacOps Tac51 (My own specs) it is easily the most accurate rifle with factory 168 Federal Ammo I have ever shot. On west coast they are pretty plentiful in LE Snipers Hands. I have seen many very small groups from these rifles.

GAP makes a fantastic rifle also and I have won many a match with GAP. No need to take any side here. Both are better than anyone who will shoot them.

Now I wont point fingers but seems to me many a guy blames equipment for own shooting problems. Most of the rifles on the market are far better than the shooters who have them.

PRG lets not do the what website says what thing? Many times its who pays the bills who gets the play on a website, so always best to just report first hand info.

On Tactical Rifles. I have seen the work and talked with them. I would not hesitate to buy from them.

One thing for group size. Never take a FFP scope for shooting groups unless it has one very fine reticle. The P3 SxB's will cover too much of area and never give you ability to hold under .25moa. I use either my NXS 5-22,8-32,12-42 or a Permier 5-25 with fine Gen Two to shoot groups.

Back to shipping US Military slings before I ship out this week. Have fun.

This is good to know, I've also been bitten by the precision bug and have been looking at options.

They sent me a catalog/price list and called me several times to talk about what I want. They seemed very professional and are obviously willing to work hard to get business.

Perhaps .25MOA is a stretch for a claim, however all 5 of our Tac Ops rifles and every other one that I have seen is .25MOA capable with FGMM. I would not expect Federal to make any such claim from their GMM ammo.

For myself I would not personally pay this kind of money out of pocket for this rifle as my Rem 700SPS tactical is a consistent .5 to .75MOA shooter out of the box. My partners SPS tactical with a stock swap and bedded is a consistent sub .5 MOA. And as you mention we are nit picking at this point. On the other hand, from my own personal experiences, I am not that comfortable with 2.5MOA being acceptable.

I do shoot with a few benchrest types and they are often not happy that my tactical style tango51 will keep up with their bigger dollar rifles.
