    Magpul Backup sights question.

Had a quick question for Magpul sight owners - anyone know of the front sight post can be changed with aftermarket ones?

I've seen AR15 fiber optic sight posts, and tritium ones as well.

Looking at the magpul sights - it seems that the post should unscrew right out and be able to be swopped - assuming the thread pattern is not proprietary. Anyone know?

its a standard A2 front sight post so I dont see why it couldnt be swapped out. Just make sure you have some thread lock to keep it from backing out like the magpul ones have. Or use the pin they provide to lock it

    Ok, thanks.

I do have the pins. Online I have seen people claim that the stock post tends not to back out. But if I swopped it, I'd probably use that pin.

A buddy of mine on a neighboring dept. replaced his standard post with a Trijicon night sight. He did put a little blue loctite on it and installed the pin just to be safe.
