Convert bull barrel to bushing, SA 1911?

If you have the SA TRP with Bull Barrel and target sights, can it converted to combat sights and a bushing barrel without having to modify the gun. Could you just buy a new barrel, bushing, novack sights and instal them?

I have heard of people doing this on other bushingless 1911's so I don't see why not.

Does the slide have the little bushing cut machined into it to mate with the little key on the bushing?

As MD said, if the slide is cut for the barrel bushing lug, fitting a conventional barrel shouldn't be a problem.

If the TRP has the adjustable rear sight, you can't install a Novak without a lot of work and some welding. John Harrison makes a fixed rear sight that you can replace the adjustable sight with.
