Exclamation FBI acquires two AIC Mag Fed 20mm rifles...

I came across this recently and figured some here might take an interest. I did not see anything on it when I performed a search.

    Solicitation Number:
    10-Q-LDQ002768
    Notice Type:
    Presolicitation
    Synopsis:
    Added: Nov 27, 2009 6:03 pm

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Anzio Ironworks Corporation, 1905 16th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 for two (2) Magfed 20mm Rifles and accessories in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The FBI intends to procure the following items:

Magfed 20mm Rifle with Belgian Camo Overcoat finish. Includes bipod, brake, handguard, free floated barrel and case (Qty: 1 each)

Magfed 20mm Rifle with Navy NWV Camo Duracoat finish. Includes bipod, brake, handguard, free floated barrel and case (Qty: 1 each)

Non-firing bolt assemblies (Qty: 2 each)

    Extra magazines (Qty: 4 each)

Suppressors in 20mm (Qty: 2 each)
This thing makes their .50 BMG rifle look like a bb gun!

Probably for some kind of training purpose. Maybe a MILES type thing.

indeed.. most of these FBI weapon orders i've seen include orders for inert bolts, and sometimes they even word it "training bolt" or similar

Not trying to get on your case. Just redirecting people so it does not turn into a flamefest on why they need these.

There is no way in Hell I would get behind the butt of that thing and pull the trigger unless the only option was certain death.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

Really? I would. After seeing a demo of someone else doing it first

Most people say the same thing about a 50 but once they do it the grin would split their head in two. I am thinking the grin after shooting one of these would split your head in 4 or 8 pieces.

It weighs 70+ lbs and is 6 or 7 feet long. I doubt it would be that bad to shoot.

As I said in the other thread we already had on this subject, they're only buying two of them and they're going to the gun geeks at Quantico. Probably they just want to see what the gun's capabilities might be (for both their use and to counter it).

Americans shouldn't be out-gunned by the government, but so long as Americans insist on leaving the protection of America solely to Big Daddy, Big Daddy should never be out-gunned by badguys.

i have no problem with the FBI having big guns. i have no more love for them than anyone, but they ARE "goodguys".. i think we forget that sometimes.
