    Nikko Stirling 1-4 Diamond scope

What's the word on these Nikko Stirling 1x4 scopes? Just ran across them on SWFA. Competition for the DMS? Similar stats and $240. Anyone handled one yet?

I'd like to know as well as I'm in the market for a budget 1-4 type of scope.

Anyone have feedback on the Konus M30 1-4x24mm? Any other 1-4x should we be looking at besides the Millet at the sub-$200 price point?

There are better choices for inexpensive optics IMO.

    1. Weaver V3 1-3x20

    2. Bushnell 3200 Elite 1.5-4.5x32

i've been reading good things about the new offering of vortex- http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/...q-mrad-reticle
if you notice, the MSRP is only $599... i'm certain the street price will be significantly lower. there is a vortex rep (vortexsam) on the forum. ask him questions... seems like a decent guy. here is a link to an m4 thread on this optic-

also, i've seen the trijicon accupoints go for sub $600 prices used occasionally. i think better values are to be had. good luck!

To not take anything away from the OP and to avoid starting a similar thread, I'll just post this up here ...

I too think there are better optics to be had. But I'm wanting to try something else but a RDS. I'm not going to spend the $500+ on a 1-4 powered optic to see if I like it or not. I rather no spend the big money now, not like it, and sell it for 70-90% of what I put into it. With what I'm trying to do, I think the $200 or less optics will serve me just fine.

If you buy a mid priced optic and don't like it and it's in as new shape, you might take a ten percent loss on resale. If. You buy cheap optic that isn't a "wanted" item, you'll lose a lot more. Just my opinio-n.maybe you can find one to try first.

Out of curiosity, what makes these better than the Konus?

I was replying to the OPs question regarding Nikko Sterling optics. I haven't handled the Konus but I have my guess would be that Konus optics aren't much different than other optics sourced from the PRC. I may be wrong. I may be right.

The quality of the glass on the optics I listed is pretty darn good for the money asked for. Give them a look. I'll check out the Konus in return.
