    Aimpoint C3 vs M2

I have been going crazy looking for a good RDS. I am going to replace my MSARs factory optics. Anyhow I found the Aimpoint C3 to be within my budget(and it includes a mount). I am aware that the M2 is the standard military sight. So is there a big difference between the C3 and M2? Will the C3 take the M2s accessories(like kill flash and rubber covers etc)?
    Thanks in advance

    Pretty much the same Except:
    -Not NVG compatible
    -15 ft water submersible
    -50,000 hour battery life.

Pretty much cant beat for range and HD use

Thanks for the quick reply. SO if I got this right the C3 is every bit as good as the M2, I just can't take it swimming while wearing Night Vision. I'm a happy camper

I believe the C3 has a more commercial looking finish (slightly more glossy). The M2 is older technology but NVG compatible. (older meaning one rev earlier and so less battery life).

Either would probably work for you fine.

IMHO the C3 is the best solution for virtually all commercial and LE buyers, followed by the H-1 if you're looking to save on weight.

My quick and dirty, simple and to the point, take on the various models is below. This is based on personal use of the models listed, the specifications from the chart above, as well as input from Aimpoint staff.

No need for deep diving or NV, and on a budget?
    Aimpoint C3

    Need a deeper waterproof rating?
    Aimpoint ML3

Need the deeper rating and NV?
    Aimpoint M3

Need the most robust and bomb-proof sight Aimpoint has ever made?
    Aimpoint M4 or M4s

Need a compact and/or lightweight solution without the need to dive or NV?
    Aimpoint H-1

Need a compact and/or lightweight solution and you dive with it or need NV?
    Aimpoint T-1

Taken those two(C3 and H1) does one have an advantage over the other as far as durability/reliability? With the Botach deal the H1 would be in my price range too.

C3 vs H1 the main difference that most notice is the weight. The C3 can also be had in a 2 MOA if that matters to you, while the H-1 is more like a 3.x than a true 4 MOA.

One thing that I have noticed in my use of the two is that the C3 is more forgiving due to the larger tube size. This is, however, mitigated to a certain extant by the shorter tube length of the H-1, but exists all the same.

If you can afford the H-1, and can appreciate the lighter weight, I think it's worth the added cost and the slightly narrower view angle.

    AWESOME
thank you. The botach deal makest the H1 very affordable, and it looks like it will mount right onto my MSAR(no need for another mount, since i wont take it off)
