What would you miss most in a collapse/emergency?

I was thinking the other day, while being an active user, that it would suck big time to no longer have a supply of toliet paper

It got me thinkning, maybe I should begin a small stockpile of TP.

Of course I would miss TV, as I'm a big race fan (I like Mythbusters too), but it got me wondering. What else would you miss, pacticluarly some small things that may be easy to over look?

Contact lens solution. I am very much non-functional without my contacts (I can get by with glasses, but wouldn't want to for very long). Lasik tops my lists of SHTF preps....

TP? Well we've all got a few sacrificial T-shirts for that purpose. That would be the least of your worries I assure you.
As for Mythbusters, we've all seen every episode umpteen billion times as well.

Things like a bed, HVAC, good food, clean clothing, daily showers, etc, etc would be most missed.

Roger that on the t-shirts. Unless we get displaced we're not too badly set on the rest. We have also prepared, somewhat, with a focus toward having to displace. Hope it never happens, that would be the worst case and the hardest to deal with.

    Electricity

Its the core to most of are comforts.

Thats why a secondary source such as solar, hydro or wind base generators is so important as they continue to produce long after the fossil fuels availability runs out. I have the solar and the wind based generation system in place but I have been working on a hydro based generation system which utilizes a fast moving stream which exits a broken rock face on my property. The volume of water seems consistent through out the warm seasons so once I adapt a reducing vein which contains a impeller to turn a shaft of a generator at least I can recharge my battery bank when solar is inhibited by poor weather or the wind dies out. I'M still researching the best way to transmit the power of the hydro systems generation back to my battery bank but I'M sure it won't be that complicated.

Tap water, cigarettes, electricity, and ice cream.

I don't know what it is about spending time in the woods, but I always want ice cream.
