    Trijicon TR24 Made in Japan?

Just got a TR24 feeling all proud to be buyin' American. Flip the thing over and find a "made in Japan" stamp! What gives?

What gives is you ended up with a reasonably-priced, sub-MOA piece of fantastic glass from a company with an excellent CS history.

It's easy to see why you'd be furious.

    Yeah, I'm furious.

You're gonna have to explain the "sub-MOA piece of fantastic glass" thing to me. Are you talking about turret adjustment increments?

Japan is awesome, look at Nikon or canon glass. Now if it said China, I would be worried.

The larger SFP NF scopes are also made in Japan.

Tongue-in-cheek, man. My bad for not using the emoticon menu to make that clearer.

It's a well-made optic, and if you pull a search in this subforum, others have "vocalized" their impressions of the clarity of the glass used. From a CBA standpoint, you should be paying more for the apparrent level of light transmission that thing has, i.e., glass quality. If you have other, similar optics, do a side-by-side look-through; you may see a difference, you may not, everybody's eyes are different. Use a specific color background, see if/how the color shifts from one to the other vs. bare eye. If Trijicon ever puts a BDC reticle in one, it's on my To Get list. If they don't, I'll eventually go with another option because I pesonally just like those sorts of reticles. Probably have to shell out more $$$, in that case...

As for the other thing, it's a very precise optic, again in particular regard to the money you shell out for one in comparison to some of the other upper-end 1-4x devices. Optics have specs just like rifles, and can be rated by MOA just like rifles. That thing chutes guuuuuuud!

I would echo Riverine's remarks. I own a TR-24G. I have been highly impressed with the edge to edge clarity of the glass. I owned a more expensive Swarovski scope previous to this, and the glass is equal if not better. I think the Trijicon is very nice for the price I paid for it.

G&R Tactical has a very good deal on a M4C member price, I ordered mine there.

I put it in a Larue LT-135, and it has worked well. I'm shooting it on a Colt 6920 with a fixed FSB, so I went with the higher mount.

All AccuPoint bodies and glass are made in Japan. They are shipped to our factory in Wixom, MI where they are assembled and finished. The scope is labeled "Made in Japan" because of import laws.
Full disclosure - I am an Engineering Supervisor at Trijicon, Inc.
