I am using an Aimpoint ML3 in a Bobro Cantilever mount without any magnifier. This setup with a 50 yard zero has proven effective for my needs.

I ran an Aimpoint H-1 (Larue tall mount) with an authentic Aimpoint 3xMag (Larue FTS mount) and the 4 MOA dot under magnification looked like shite...

It's known that the Aimpoint 4 MOA dot is sometimes described as blurry, spider-like, comet with a tail etc... and the magnifier really makes this evident.

The 2 MOA dots on my CompM3 and CompM4 however, are amazing under magnification.

That has been my experience with the 4MOA as well.......
The 2MOA M4 was a little better but still some distortion was evident
