That leaves: Colt, S&W BM, DPMS, RRA, LMT, DS, Armalite, LWRC, Ruger, SD and SA.

Now let's look at who follows the TDP: Colt, LMT

These would be my considerations for a duty weapon.

I didnt see anything about not being able to use SS barrels. Wouldn't that make the rifle a little heavier? What is TDP? I really like the monolithic rifles. A friend of mine has a piston LMT and that thing is awesome.

SS generally is not as reliable as chrome lined. For duty use, reliability is number one!

TDP = Technical Data Package AKA Mil-Spec

I looked at your setup and that would look really sharp. I was looking at more of a 9" handguard with a low profile gas block, front and back flip up/down sights and elec, sighting system. The reason why I put such a high amount was because of the monolithic rifles. I'm not knocking your idea and appreciate it. Ill still keep that in mind. Thanks!

TDP: technical data package. The set of mil spec specifications. Having a chrome lined barrel/chamber would not add any noticeable weight as this is merely a thin plating process.

Ah, got it. There is so much to learn. Rifles are like computers, always learning and something new is always coming out. Thanks!

could you do something like get a S&W/DPMS/whatever lower and put a BCM upper on it? Would your dept have a fit or notice, or is it complete rifles only

Although it's not on your list, you might have a look at the Daniel Defense M4. It complies with the TDP and is a very fine rifle out of the box.

Fellas, he said that he had to pick from his list provided to him. We all know that there other quality rifles, but he has to choose from his list.

Check the chart brother. Great info there. Rob has been alot of help with assisting me with my rifle choice.

I'd go colt or lmt. Check the chart. Comparatively priced weapons with important listed features. I can't believe how many manufacturers were left out for your options yet they'll let you carry rra, dpms or bushy. Goes to show how much some leo really know about this topic. This is not only a question of quality, but a question of safety.
