Another half breed Ak is born

G kit on a NDS65 reciever and AMD65 folder. This is one of my favorite configurations for a budget ak. Makes a great truck gun. I will park it in a few days and finish it up. I may even do a Duracoat camo pattern.

What is the thread size for the muzzle break on those G kits?

It does have the pad on the stock.
The thread is standard 14mmLH. We did a run of those Phoenix fh's in a group buy at Arfcom a year or so ago. I think I am going to use a Smith Ent. brake though. A brake is helpful with a wire stock.

Here are some pics of my rivets. The Ak-builder jig makes for a picture-perfect rivet.

What type of wood is that? Walnut like the Polish rifles or is it just awfully old, dirty and stained or something? I don't see much grain but it definitely looks like dark wood. Interesting.

I think it's Bulgarian. It was painted with a waxy black paint that I stripped off and sprayed with clear coat. Kinda hard to tell from the pics but it looks real nice in person. I actually do not plan on using them. I need a set of poly black hg's.

Decided to change up to some old Romy wood. That is the DCI's finish from the factory complimented by Ak-Builders rivets (they come black).
