help choosing 9mm 1911 mags

I recently completed a build on a colt gov model 1911 in 9mm. Trying to choose the best magazines. I know "you get what you pay for" and it is a most critical part to a good functioning 9mm 1911. But after spending all the money on the build want to be cost effective on mags. From my research this is what I have found out there:
wilson etm- 32/ea
cobra tripp-31/ea
metalform- 30/ea
colt-27/ea
check mate-25/ea
springfield-30/ea
paraord-25/ea
mecgar-21/ea
I still have a negative feeling about checkmates from my deployed experience with the m9 mags.
The gunsmith suggested metalform, what is the opinion here? what have you used that worked well or not? also any other sources at a good price?

I have had good luck with the Wilson Combat mags. I started using modified
Pachmayers and when the WC mags came out switched to them and have had
no issues.

I have a bunch of ETM's that have been good to go. I want to try some of the Tripp mags though or at least the rebuild kits for my stock springfield mags since I have also heard good things about them.

The "best" magazines are the ones that work in your pistol. I'd suggest trying some different ones and let your your pistol decide which ones to buy in quanitiy. The Colt mags are a good place to start as are the Wilsons, then try some of the others. It means that you may buy some that don't work so you might have to sell those later.

The Springfield/Metalform mags work well in my Springfield. I have used the Wilson ETM's and they work also. That's all I've tried, can't waist money on experiments. I try to borrow from willing friends first.

I have been running the Wilson ETM in 45acp and they are awesome! Midway USA has both the 9mm and 45acp on sale for $29.99 each. Great mag at that price, I ordered 6 more of them.

That is what came with my Springfield and work really well. Almost everything from 115 to 147 grain.

I say almost because it has hiccuped a couple times on some 124 grain truncated reloads. I think it may be an OAL issue.

I have been wanting to try some Wilson ETM's.
