My new BCM 18" build!, new pics 3-14-10

These are the parts that recieved! I have also ordered a complete lower from BCM and am currently waiting for it! The 18" BCM upper I am waiting for is currently out of stock! I am also adding a Magpul PRS stock, LaRue 1.5 scope mount and Leupold Mark AR 4-12x40. I will be updating this thread with info and pics as I get them!

How about a list of what you bought, how much you paid, why you chose those particular parts over others, your experience with those items and your application for the complete weapon.

It would help other readers understand the context and reasoning.

    As you wish!

This is what I have purchased so far!

    350.00 BCM complete lower
    45.00 BCM Gunfighter CH
    33.00 Magpul AFG FDE
    20.00 Magpul Moe Grip FDE
64.00 Magpul XTM rail covers in BLK/FDE
274.00 Magpul PRS stock through Rainer Arms with extension tube spring and buffer
199.00 LaRue (Troy) Battle Sight BUIS

This is what is left on my list!

    171.00 LaRue Harris Bipod combo
    195.00 LaRue Scope mount LT104
    500.00 Leupold Mark Ar 4-12x40
    1199.00 BCM SPR Mk 12 Mod 2X-Bravo (LT13)

I choose the the parts that I did because I wanted to have a very dependable rifle. I wanted something that the quality shines throught in accuracy and in vanity. I know everybody says these things are tools and it shouldn't matter if they get scratched and what not, while I do believe that to a certain extent. I will be very sad the first day I drip this in the mud. This is pretty much my vison front start to finsh. Minus selecting every piece in the upper myself and what not, and alot a my hard earned money going into creating it. I wanted something that matches and the fit and finish is superior to other rifles I have looked at. As far as that goes I believe that BCM's fit and finish is gorgeous and everything on the rifle will be BCM, LaRue or Magpul from a vanity standpoint. Though this will not be a safe queen or a wallhanger, It will definately look the part.

As far as what is this weapons primary objective. I will be shooting long range with it and I am already planning on Praire Dog hunting next summer with my father-in-law, and this will be my weapon of choice!

Nice rifle you have planned. I have been considering the Leupold Mark AR 4-12x40 for my SPR too.
I am not sure those BCM 18" uppers have been even produced or sold yet.
A friend and I have gotten a jump on our BCM 18" barreled SPR builds getting them assembled enough for a initial range firing last weekend.
On each of ours the final configurations will most likely change before all is said and done.
Mine is on the right, most of it was parts from BCM on a BCM lower and the rail I already had for a long time.

    Just offering:
If you are up Northern WI and want to get the upper components and the BCM 18" barrel. We have all that you would need for assembling your upper. You could even blast, paint, and bake your barrel with GunKote Flat Black on the trip if that is of interest.
The paint is on order right now otherwise our barrels would have been black by now. PM me if interested.

I have considered the fact that I could go with a LaRue Stealth upper or Noveske. I know the quality would definately be there, but the vanity part of me wants the upper and lower to be the same, plus I like the fact that they are a local business for me. Also just buying my carbine I can wait for them to be in stock again since I would perfer to stay married. I think !
