Have fun Y'all. I will be at around 4700ft in a wilderness area eating pine cones while you are bustin' caps and eating at the Cracker Barrel.

Think about me suffering eating mountain house when the desert menu comes around.

On the other hand, in light of a certain change of events and an earnest talk with my backpacking buddy, this Cracker Barrel is looking a lot more doable right now

Where is everyone staying at. I've not been in this area before, is the lodge at the facility the recommended place to stay?

Ordinarily...but they are booked solid as of Friday when I called. That leaves staying at either a little B&B in Moyock (never been there) or at a hotel in either Chesapeake or Elizabeth City. Chesapeake is a bigger place with a lot of options for food. There are some phenomenal restaurants in the Va. Beach/Norfolk/Chesapeake area.

I ended up getting a room at the Holiday Inn express in Elizabeth City NC.

$88.00 a night with AAA card.

If anybody finds something closer to the range post up the info. Looks like about a 30 min drive to the range from the Holiday Inn.
