So where are you guys getting your barrels shortened?
I've been considering Hi-Desertdog because they tune the gas as part of the process.

I would recommend Marvin Pitts. He did my SCAR barrel and my MRP barrel. Most SCAR guys here have sent their barrels to him. LMK if you need his contact info.
No, he can do it for you. Just ask him. He's a nice guy and knows his business.
I was offered a nice price on a SCAR 16s, which led to a somewhat impulse buy of it. Took it out on Sunday and put 100 or so rounds through it. The only malfunction I had was that a Lancer mag I have doesn't work with it, can't close the bolt with it. Pics below.

I had my SCAR barrel cut by HDD. The quality of the cut was good, and accuracy is maintained. He does open up the port. And while the gun functions 100%, it is now way overgassed. I've decided I want to get the cyclic rate back down again, so I ordered some gas control screws (the gas port imports) from FN. The port he opens up is considerably larger than the largest port available from FN. I'll be tuning my 10.5" SCAR with the ports I got form FN.
