    7.62x39 vs. Knight's Armament Rail

    A few nights ago the team here took the Afghan commandos out on a mission. They made enemy contact and one of the Afghanis had his weapon shot by the Taliban. The secondary fragments and part of the bullet hit him in the face, but he is doing well. Here is what happened to his M4 with KAC rail system.

    I replaced everything this evening and it almost looks like new. The weapon needed a new slip ring, spring and retaining clip as well as a new rail system.

    So you are saying they should make body armor out of knights rails?

    Nope. The gas tube was fine and so was the barrel. The upper had a small gouge in it, but was still serviceable.

    Wow, that's one hell of a shot since it missed the gas tube and barrel. Thanks for sharing...you just don't see stuff like this everyday.
