    Anyone watch Dateline last night

About the VT shootings? Some of the things they reported about the State of VA just blows my mind!

First, they tried to say that it VERY easy to buy a weapon in VA when in fact, VA requires two forms of ID and a two background checks (in certain areas).

They went on to say that Virginians almost feel like it is their RIGHT to own a firearm! Well NO SHIT! It is called the 2nd Amend. and it IS YOUR RIGHT!

My favorite part is that they said that ANYONE without a criminal record could buy a gun. Hmm, well lets see, if the person doesn't have a crimiinal record, that would make them a law abbiding citizen. Apparently that is not enough and they want some other kind of background check as well (Lord only knows what they think would work). How bout a financial background check? Or a full psych exam?

Sounds almost like the same dip shits that were on CNN yesterday afternoon. They kept insisting that anyone in VA could get a CCW permit all they had to do is apply for it and they got it. WRONG!!! Funny how everyone is an expert but yet they have no clue as to the rules and regulations. People like them give LAW ABIDING gun owners a bad name.

What's sad is the guy who sold him the gun (he posts on black-rifles.com) is now getting death threats. Who knows what guy is going to face for doing a 100% legal and by the books sale.

I hate anti gun logic. If all things were equal, 8 cylinder engines would be illegal because some where some guy got drunk and killed someone street racing in his four cylinder Honda.

The funny thing is that gun crimes are about the only crimes where people also blame the tools used.

    Lets compare:

Drunk drivers, we blame the person, not the car or booze.
Arson, we blame the person, not the lighter.
ID theft, we blame the person, not the computer or easy to get info.
Stabbing, we blame the person, not the knife.
Rapists, we blame the person, not the, uh, yeah.

Honestly, I do not understand where anti-gun people are coming from. Are they honestly that afraid?

On the BBC webpage it stated that people in several US states could by fully automatic weapons at Gun shops. Looks like somebody at BBC should do some research. Iknow if You have a special licence You could own such a firearm. But, they claim that any joe shmoe could just walk into the local shop and walk out with a machine gun.

Actually, we are born with that right. The 2nd amendment is merely a protection against the government from removing that right. We are not granted rights but privileges.

Sorry, but I think it is an important detail.

I hate to say it, but if the assault ban wasn't coming back before, it probably sure is now. This tragedy at VT is exactly what the anti-gun crowd needed to use the emotions of the nation to push thru all kinds of gun laws. bye bye AR-15's.

If it happens at all, I think it is over a year off

I don't think the Dems want to risk screwing up the 2008 election

Although I am certain they hate to risk losing this momentum

Even if the ban were renewed back in 2004 and this event took place as it did, I do not think it would have altered things any, and the Dems know this.

The shooters mag capacity is the only difference between “now” and “then” and even so, pre-ban mags were still available during the ban……you just paid a higher price for them verses the post-ban mags.

In reality the anti-gun crowd has nothing from this crime to pin of the “sun setting” of the ban.

no gun rights except via the Constitution

    GUYS,

The Declaration of Independence states we have inalienable rights those being, "Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness". There is no guarentee of hapiness in the declaration.

There is no law in the United States but that which is based upon the the US Constitution. That is why Sharia law, Islamic law, can never be legal in the United States. Without the US Constitution and the 2nd Amendment, there is no "right" to weapons. Thank G-od that the founding fathers had the smarts that they had!

Also the verbage of "people" in the 2nd amendment actually meant in the verbage of the day, "Male Landowners". Things have changed considerably since then.

Now if we could only down load our Founding Fathers Smarts to Palosi and Rosie "Oh I'm ugly in the morning" O'Donnel!
"Weapons are just "tools". No pistol, rifle or shotgun ever killed anyone. You are the weapon. You decide to do good or evil. The mass majority of Americans, regardless of what the democrats want you to think, will make the right decision at the right time regarding the use of firearms. So please... continue to protect yourself, your Family and the innocent. As for the wicked... "Dirt Nap"
