I wish I had found that chart before I made some of my purchases but thankfully I did find before I made others.

I second that, its the main reason that BCM is propped up next to the nightstand.

BM is, and continues to be, a lesser brand. M4 feed ramps are a small part of BM's problems.

M4 feed ramps have been a standard feature on Bushmaster for some time. I don't think you can get a BM barrel without them anymore. They also turn out 1/7 as well as 1/9 twist, though the 1/9 is more common. Bushmaster has steadily improved their product, albeit in small ways. Better steel in the barrels, ramps, C/L, etc.

Credit should be given where credit is due. (Even Olympic has some good stanless barrels.) Once Colt was all the rage. Then RRA. Then CMMG. Then LMT. Then BCM. It's worse than a 17 year old girl with a credit card at Nordstrom. Just because once company has a good product does not detract from the honest accomplishments of another company. List my a___.

Credit should indeed be given where it is due. Most here would agree with you.

The problem with BM and others is that the standards are a moving target.

When you say ramps have been standard for some time, you would need to quantify that. I have seen Patrolman's Carbines with and without them as recently as a year ago. Multiple samples. You can get them both ways, as what they assemble depends on who the buyer is, or what they have in stock.

BM does indeed produce 1/7 barrels, but 1/9 twist remains the norm.

Few who know and understand the guns would say that they have "steadily improved." BM may be bringing desirable features to market with greater frequency, but the nuts and bolts of the gun are the same. They work better for some, less for others. They are what they are.

If you like yours, enjoy it, and shoot well.

Recommend you spend a good deal of time reading the knowledge base threads and stickies.

BM steadily improve their product? Those words don't go together. They purposefully don't make certain changes because it would increase the overall cost. BM sells to a certain market segment; those that don't know or that don't care.

All the rage? Colt, LMT, and BCM are still the rage for those that take the time to care about quality and reliability. All one has to do is go to a quality carbine course to see this.

I actually think BM is going backwards. In the 90's they made some pretty good AR's I think. Not the case now.

Yes and no. There are caveat's that have to be stated when you make this comment I think.

    1. If you have a magazine with anti-tilt followers, M4 barrel extension and M4 cuts in the receiver are not needed.

    2. If you don't shoot ammo above 55gr , neither anti-tilt followers or M4 feed ramps are needed.
