My Colt MT6700 rifle came with a normal one...that thing looks kinda funky. I recall they used to do that on the civvy models for a few years. By the way, my 6700 barrel and chamber are chrome-lined. You may or may not have one that has only the chamber chromed, as they did that for awhile too.

I just received about 75 new hammers via the stock system. None of them had a "C" marking. I believe they had an "S" on the side. I'll double check.

Yes, that's a Colt commercial buffer that they put in their post ban rifles (not carbines) a while ago.

    I think you're fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I have confirmed the buffer is correct. Colt put these strange ones in for a couple year period. Now the only question is the hammer and LPK Colt or ??? I haven't been able to find any other hammers that are made with the notch in them, so maybe it is Colt? I sure wish Colt had a email address so I could send them some photos.
    Thanks for all your help,

Unless the rifle was made in that last year, it has .170 fire control pins. No one makes standard fire control parts with .170 size pins except Colt. There are a couple manufacturers that make two stage/replacement/competition fire control parts. Your fire control parts are Colt.

As near as I can tell your hammer looks just like mine. My trigger also has an M marked on the right side and the disconnector has C S marked on the left side.

I had the same buffer in my CAR-15 and Sport II HBAR. It's a commerical buffer so Colt can save a few bucks. As for fire control parts the most recent ones I have see all have a "M" stamped on them.

Some Colt hammers do not have a C on them and it doesn't matter whether they are small pin or large pin.
