    I'll bet you're getting failure to reset. A weak trigger spring, (like nickdrak said) or a burr either on the disconnector or on the engagement surface on the back of the hammer.

    Problem solved. Polishing everything and continual manipulation of the action worked wonders. The problem improved progressively as I went on. I think it just needed broken in. Thanks for your help. Sorry to bother.

    According to your experience today then the hammer must have been cocked all along but just not reset.

    The disconnector was very liking holding on the hammer but not resetting and not allowing the trigger to engage the hammer when the trigger was released. This happens sometimes with new lower parts kits and sometimes just honing a part and or lubing it up will cure it. Sometimes it requires a new disconnector.
