    The AUG A3 for sure.

Very much is like Colt vs. Bushmaster. Both are fine rifles but the AUG is much better made and costs more. The AUG also seems to be more accurate, but I haven't determined if it is the rifle or the MSAR optics that are the cause. Simply put I'm too lazy to do a side by side of both rifles with the same scope. That and the MSAR shoots well enough for me not to worry about it too much. By the way you can run AR mags on a factory Steyr with a NATO stock. But if you want caliber variation, MSAR is your only option.

Have you tried switching parts between the two? Can you stick and MSAR barrel/bolt in an AUG? Might give me the best of both worlds. Could you elaborate on the quality diff. I know how much and MSAR is, haven't priced the AUG. Thankyou for your replies thus far.

An MSAR barrel will not work in a Steyr, and vice versa due to a slight difference in gasblock position. The bolts do appear to lockup, but it is not advised...

I really think asking for SteyrAUG to elaborate on perceived quality differences of the two is only going to drag this thread off topic. He has covered the topic before on this site, and it always turns into a brand war. It really is a subjective issue...

This is supposed to be a picture thread, right?

    FS2000:

Shooting FS2000. Ejection port cover initially was closed. After 4 casings built up in there it popped open, spewing all casings.

FS2000 next to older AR & FN FAL:

    HK416 & Steyr AUGa2

Dog and Bullpups: Steyr AUG, MSAR, and TPD (note, I only own the Steyr, the other two were for T&E.

This was my first bullpup, even though it's actually classified as a pistol.

    Here is my newest:

Looking for an MSAR now...probably trade off one of the AR's.
