Springfield M1A Serial number date

Does anybody know a resource for getting date of manufactor for M1A's? I bought an unfired M1A today that has a TRW bolt and other M14 parts as well as the stock cutout for the fire selector. I'm trying to get some idea how old this rifle is. I'm 99% sure it's pre ban but how far back I have no idea. Thanks

Honestly....give them a call, they should be able to tell you when the rifle left the factory.

It was much easier than I thought. Springfield customer service comes through again. The rifle was made in June of 1996. A real shame that until now the previous owner let it sit in a safe unfired.
What a fantastic rifle!
