Personally I think this is exactly what they may attempt. It just takes a committee adding it to the bill.

You know they were knashing their teeth when it was realized that a huge secondary market had been created for replacement parts (and individuals circumventing by building new mags from parts).

You could also expect them to close the loophole on importation of any pre-ban mags since you had wholesalers/retailers etc. that magically found hidden stocks of S. African/Argentine BHP mags, Asian contract 92F mags, and so on.

I think registering anything at this point as a means to try and keep it when the sword falls will be quite a mistake if confiscation begins. ATF etc. only needs to go to their own files to pull information on who has what. Everything else will require them to go to the local gunshop and pull all the 4473's and sort through them to find what they want. (Which they already due under organized crime statues....)

I'm with all of you on this. I was just putting out there that I think it would be a grave mistake to go the Form X route if you thought that would be some sort of protection from the JBT's/Local LE/etc. from knocking on your door later.

It is called a civil war.

It would probably start on the level of Unintended Consequences and go forward from there.
