LWRCi makes an amazing fluted barrel if you're into pistons.

I have a YHM 10.5" fluted barrel that does what it is supposed to out to 200 yards. I haven't tried anything further yet. It was only $170 also.

Your right, but your info is mixed up about LWRC, it is amazing they are still in business considering how piss poor their products are. Not to mention their customer service when the LEO/MIL account manager cusses every other word, how professional. Do NOT believe their accuacy reports. They told me my rifle I sent to them shot 1 ragged hole at 50 yards, but yet the target they sent me was a 2 inch group of 5 shots. LWRC is the worst company I have ever done business with. I have a bushmaster that came with a 16 inch 1:9 barrel that shoots surprisingly well. However the secret with fluted barrels is wide flutes. The wide flutes like on a Remington 700 Police LTR accually works. The thinner flutes like on my bushmaster do NOT cool any better, just make the rifle feel lighter weight. I can maintain the same shot groups with my 700 LTR, where my friends' 700 heats up faster and the groups start to spread out. The two 700s have the same overall barrel profile, except the LTR has flutes. Hopes this helps.

    LMFAO.

Doesn't LWRCi have one of the best customer service reputations in the business?

Isn't there a reason that very many people consider LWRCi rifles the best piston AR-15 rifles on the market?

I'd actually go out to say they are my favorite AR-15 made. My 12.7'' does it's business VERY well out to 500 meters.

I haven't measured groups at that range, but a 10 shot group at 100 yards with the same rifle was sub-MOA.

If I owned a camera I'd post pictures. (I'll be funding one after my rifles are complete.)

Also passes the over-the-beach test if you're into that sort of thing.

Well salad, if you want I'll sell you this one I have dirt cheap. Even the "one ragged hole" that LWRC says they shot and sent to me is not a one hole group. They are about 1.5 inches at 50 yards, with a ACOG. I am debating on mounting a Leupold I have laying around and shooting it again, but then again I think I would rather sell it and just be done. One person at LWRC told me I should be happy with that, after all the Troy sights are 4moa. I have never heard that before, has anybody else? LWRC's customer service is crap. The Supervisor over the LEO/MIL sales, kept saying, just go shoot the G*d D*mn rifle, you'll love it. Using the Lords name in vain 7 times in a conversation is an unacceptable business practice. Whatever, any company that hires a person that his sales pitch has more 4 letter words than a truck stop bathroom stall is unprofessional and should expect a top tier price for piss poor customer service and equipment performance. I have not shot it since sending it back to them. Not to mention I had to call them and ask for my owner's manual, magpul MIAD grip kit, and SLP 2000 gun lube back. Do not send them everything that comes with it back, you'll never see it again. LWRC does NOT care about making a consumer happy, once you buy it, it is your problem!!! If you think LWRC is so great and you want it, you can have it dirt cheap just PM me. I just won't to be rid of LWRC.

You could buy a White Oak barrel from ADCO and have them flute it however you like. Or dimple it.

They'll flute any barrel you send them though, you don't have to buy it from them.

My stupid question of the day:

Can they flute or dimple a lightweight barrel?

How much material can they remove?

How thick does the wall of a barrel have to be at its thinnest?

Sorry, that was three day's worth of dumb questions...

How about rock creek barrels? I've read that they are pretty good. I have a pof and so far i'm happy with it.

What do you guys think of this barrel company? I'm new to the AR world and I only know what i've read. Have you guys heard anything different?
