The only thing I messed up was painting the inside of the objective lens cover. I realized this mistake after shooting into the low sun. The sun would hit the light color and cause pretty bad lens flare. I've since removed the paint from that area with mosenbockers graffiti remover.
Here is a pic after the base coat. It looked white!

Well done. There's a lot to be said for painting your AR or any weapon for that matter in such a way that it blends in with your surroundings rather than going Hollywood. Good job!
