I have to add my compliments about your carbine. Its very different, practical, appealling and makes me want to take another look at solid stocks. Is that an A1 stock?

I am a huge fan of A1 length stocks, this is the Cav Arms make. I will be modding this for QD sockets this weekend. The rifle buffer system is very forgiving

You know, that looks really, really good. Not just the paint job, but the elegant simplicity of the equipment. I'd suggest the Troy fixed rear sight to maintain the motif.

Gracias, I kind of wish I had an M3 or T-1, but the deal was too good to pass up. I really like the DD rear sight but have been contemplating the Troy, might have to check it out.
And a middy with a rifle stock is very smooth, a 14.5" middy with a rifle buffer is even smoother. I have always liked the recoil impulse of the rifle system. I wish someone would modernize the A1 stock with QD sockets from the factory while keeping the KISS profile.

Thanks for the info. When you do attach some QD swivels to the stock, could you post thread with a pic, Id be interested in seeing that. Keep up the good work (your paint work is excellent too....btw)

Waiting for the handguard to arrive in order to finish the paint job and test the setup. textured light brown base coat, followed by green, then black. Painters tape torn for effect. I'll post the completed rifle in a few days. I was inspired to pain this build by looking at this thread.
