    Vortex Strikefire or SPARC

I currently have an Eotech on my entry weapon, an M4.
I don't wish to buy another right now due the cost and the Aimpoints are out of my reach.

What are the opinions of those on this site regarding the Vortex Strikefire and the SPARC.
I am wanting to put one or the other on my Mossberg .12 gauge and my Marlin 444.

What's the thoughts from the members on here.

Yes, we are shipping the SPARC.

The difference is really weight and size. The SPARC is quite a bit lighter and smaller. The SPARC also has a 2MOA dot, the StrikeFire has a 4MOA dot.

The SPARC comes with a mount system that allows low height (for shotgun, AK, etc.), absolute co-witness, and lower 1/3 co-witness. The StrikeFire just comes with one mount.

There are two version of the StrikeFire now. A red/green dot version and the new red only. The SPARC is just red only. The red only LED's are a bit brighter than the red/green LED, so that may also influence your decision.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

    Sam,

Will you comment on this review? I am looking for a RDS for a truck SKS and didn't want to spend T-1 $$. I saw this review and your post , so I thought I would ask.

Well, what that guy wrote is certainly not my experience with the SPARC. I've used them in all kinds of light and the dot looks great. Maybe he had it turned up way too bright in low light conditions? Or he could have a bad astigmatism? I can't say for sure, but it just doesn't seem to coincide with all the time I've spent behind the SPARC myself.

I have no issues with my Strikefire. Not being military or leo I couldn't justify spending $400 and up on an aimpoint and mount at this point in time. Dot brightness is sufficient for me. Holds zero. Optics are quite clear. Nothing abnormal about the dot, it's the red / green version. The button pad interface doesn't obstruct my field of view either with both eyes open. I read someone had an issue with that.

I have seen both of those issues as well.

    Thank you
