No lie!
We recently made a change to our knife safety policy (thanks, Corporate), so all box knives and such (which we use a lot of) have to have auto retracting blades. Any time you use one of the knives, you have to wear a cut-resistant kevlar glove on the opposite hand. Only maintenance is allowed to use their pocketknives, and they fall under the glove rule too. The pocket knives not only have a maximum, but also a minimum (wtf?) blade length.
It's none too surprising though, because these people could tear up a crow bar in a sand pit. And when they do get hurt somehow, they milk it for all it's worth and make use of OK's very bad worker's comp policies. No matter how stupid the violation, they're almost never punished. It's truely pathetic. A disgrace upon our society. And I know there are companies much worse than us.
If I were a corporation, I'd move my manufacturing overseas, too. Even if it was some backwater 3rd world country, the workers could at least be held accountable for their actions without our lawsuit-fearing, not-my-fault, nanny state BS.
