    We need...

    No gun laws.
    No drug laws.
    No divorce laws.

Live your life as you want to, own what you can afford and be secure in it and your liberty unless you harm someone else without cause.

Security and liberty are opposing ideas. You cannot have both at the same time.

All these laws, and what have they done?

Look what illegalizing drugs did for us. You know about 100 years ago they tried the same thing with alcohol, and had the same problems. Funny we got the NFA partly because the alcohol smugglers were running around with machine guns to protect their products and turf. Now we have drug dealers and cartels doing the same thing. Our drug laws have produced far more problems, and killed far more people than drugs ever will. Now the ATF is hot on guns relating to drug crimes. History repeats itself.

What have our gun laws done except put innocent people away? For what? Look up some Revolutionary War history. Specifically the battle of Lexington and Concord which was a big spark. Look at what the British were marching to go take away from the citizens.

See what our Founders put in place was a government as close to anarchy while still maintaining "order" and "unity". Now its evolved into cases like this, and this is but one of tens of thousands. This shouldn't even be a question. I should ask you if you want to move to pre-OIF Iraq where neighbors would "tattle tale" on their neighbors, and the gov shows up to take care of the people. So you can be charged with some BS crime and thrown in a cell.

Just hope you keep good company, and if you ever get fired make sure you kiss your bosses ass so the local SWAT team doesn't surround your house to go get carted off to the loony bin.

The most sage advice on this thread has been that it is priority one to not end up in the system to begin with. Once you are in the system it is very costly to properly defend yourself, no matter how innocent you are. That's why they called it getting railroaded.

If they reverted back to only imprisoning people for raping, murdering, stealing, beating, destroying, or damaging, then the police could come over for tea whenever they pleased. Because I'm not doing any of that and I only want the cops to be on their merry way to create new divots in the skulls of badguys.

Happened to me and my buddy he was driving ticket was signed, than he was asked to have his car searched I told him too say no, he did, the officer informed him we had to wait on the K-9, I asked why we were not free to go, no real answer, hour later dog finds nothing after pounding around on my buddies trucks leather and were late to the Magic game, well sorry guys have a nice night.
I feel you. Minorities are subject to a lot of this and "no one cares". Injustice is injustice, however, and what occurs in this nation's trailer parks and ghettoes matters. Eventually, the tactics employed there will impact those of us who live in the suburbs. In fact, it's already occurring. NOTHING good will come from this type of aggresive law enforcement when we are all subject to it and make no mistake that is what we are facing.

Being a "minority" I have mixed feelings about LE but I am wise and honest enough to recognize that (a) there are beasts in Society-at-large that need detaining and sometimes eradication, (b) we are a nation of (just) laws and (c) not everyone is capable of standing down the goblins referred to in (a). Therefore, we certainly require Peace Officers in society. They do not take orders from We the People and that is the issue. Actually, the issue is the Self Imposed Ignorant and often times Apathetic Public. If we knew the Constitution and acted responsibly we'd not have a gov't whose apparent goal is to suppress the public. We would then have policemen and women who would by default be respectful in their interactions with us.

Most here are "people of action" so I do understand the rush involved when interacting with potentially dangerous persons and circumstances but the ultimate responsibility lies with the public giving a damn, informing themselves then using the precepts of the Constitution and Bill of Rights to address grievances from local, state and federal gov't agents.

    Sorry for the rant.

The sad fact is that most, or at least a large number, of us here are probably committing more crimes at this moment than the rapist or murderer down the street because of the arcane, undecipherable and arbitrary federal gun laws in this country. Olofson is serving more time in prison right now for a technical infraction (that might not even exist anyway) than most are for armed robbery and various degrees of murder. We seem to be headed towards a not too distant future where being a criminal on paper is worse than physical assaults against society. If the SEC stormed the NYSE trading floor and shot dead a dozen people for insider trading, the media would have a fit and Congress would carry on for years about it. However, when the same sort of regulatory agency do the same because of your technically illegal 15 7/8 barreld or accidental doubling AR, no one seems to care.

Do you really understand the implications of this statement? Do you really want to live in essential anarchy? No gun laws for anyone would be just that these days, make no mistake about it.

Is it truly your desire to spend each day defending your family, property or even neighborhood (perhaps we can establish tribes) against the threat of violence? Can there be civilization without law?

What about sending your child to a nice school? How's about taking your family or date to the movies without fear of armed thugs blocking the doors and robbing everyone?

Or I know, maybe you can all shoot it out and see who is left standing. Even better, the survivors will likely get to do it again in some form next week.

Great way of life, where can I sign up? I am sure my six year old will love the new lifestyle.
