"Throughout the 20th century, the Republican Party benefited from a noninterventionist foreign policy. Think of how Eisenhower came in to stop the Korean War. Think of how Nixon was elected to stop the mess in Vietnam.

"How did we win the election in the year 2000? We talked about a humble foreign policy: No nation-building; don't police the world. That's conservative, it's Republican, it's pro-American, it follows the founding fathers. And, besides, it follows the Constitution.

"I tried very hard to solve this problem before we went to war by saying, 'Declare war if you want to go to war. Go to war, fight it and win it, but don't get into it for political reasons or to enforce UN resolutions or pretend the Iraqis were a national threat to us.'" [emphasis added]

Republicans are falling apart. Nothing new. Ron Paul is looking to get voted President and thinks kissing ass and appealing to the lowest form of pop culture will get him there. There are many Republicans who would eat their own to get elected. And there are some in both parties who would allow this nation to fall to get into office. But the democrats have chose it as a party rule. Some of the Republicans have only chosen it because none (except Gingritch) are real leaders since Ronald Reagan. Bush is a great man and a capable man, but not a capable leader. I only say this because leaders motivate people to follow, not waste time with consensus. Real leaders have the ability to motivate people to run in front of bullets, go into harms way, and take on what seems impossible and overcome it. "Leaders" who see consensus should do so only with those they trust most. Not those that would destroy them.

Lets see who should commit. I also have a TS-SCI I saw alot of the same "intel" as well. I have led 14 Combat Missions in Iraq. I support the mission and the Iraqis. I have talked with the Iraqis many times and they want us there. Maybe you should ask them not the news. I am being forced out by the Air Force (force shaping) right now but loved being out there with the Grunts. I am pissed but hey I can make more money on the outside still working to help my brothers.

Why I am not going into the Army, wife does not want me to do it eventhough I would go in a heartbeat. She was told what I did by a friend of mine and she was scared sh*tless.

I would say more but I hate these topics because I keep saying the same thing and no one wants to listen. If you have been there you would know what to do. If not then you say what the media wants you to say. For everyone that supports us Thank you

I was in Beirut in 82 and back again in 83 (Grenada along the way too). Some things never change about the media. And yes, it's almost a waste of time to those with closed minds to listen.

I'm an old timer and jealous of this generation's burden to finish what my generation started in the early 80s..... Beirut twice and Grenada on the way back to my 2nd trip to Beirut. I was a grunt, 0341 with 81s Plt Wpns Co 2/8.

On WMD, it's a no brainier unless you're a CAL or libertarian, once you know how to make and deploy them as weapons it's a cake walk to make them when ever you want with the same equipment used to make bug killers.

When had Saddam ever been a threat to America? And just so you know, there is no proof that bin Laden had anything to do with 9/11. Check out the fbi's website, it's not listed as a crime he's wanted for. And, if you contact them, they'll tell you the reason for that is that they have no evidence that he had anything to do with it. Check it out for yourself.
