I agree with most of the advice given here. A handgun class will be the best payoff. I took my first tier 1 instructor (EAG) handgun course 4 weeks ago and it changed a lot of my opinions. For one, it made me realize how important handgun mastery is for a civilian. All of my previous attention was leaning towards carbines and the purchases associated with them.

I would also recommend that you sell the Taurus and get a Glock. You can find a used or LNIB one for a much better price. Someone on the EE is selling 4 Glock mags for $80 shipped. CDNN was doing this as well. You can probably get a decent bladetech holster for around $60 and a double mag pouch for $20. For the price of a new gun, you can get a used one and have much of the support gear paid for.

Get a good handgun first. You can then master the basics and look at getting classes down the road.

Plus one on this deal. I bought one of these yesterday, and will have it shipped here this week. I'll PM you a review on it when it arrives, if you like.

I have bought four pistols in the past from Mark; all have been a very good buy. The pistols have all been better than described and mechanically sound.

Please do, I'm currently up in the air between a M&P and a Glock.

    Will do.

Wyoming is God's country. If I ever get Lotto rich, I'm buying a ranch up there.

I would also recommend proper training, it is good to know how to use your tools and be efficient with them.

Sell the Taurus. Buy an M&P for $460 then mail in the rebate for $50.

Try getting into one of the regional training groups for some basics or buy the Magpul HG video.

After you have some rds through the gun, search out a pistol class.

Test drive them both if you can, each has great points.
