CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Police are investigating a shooting where it appears a robber left the scene with the victim's cell-phone in his hand, and a slug from the victim's gun in his lower abdomen.

Police say the robber ran into someone with a concealed-carry permit, and at some point the would-be victim was able to get his gun out and shoot the suspect, who took off running from the shooting scene on Rosemont Avenue south of Glenway in West Price Hill.

He dropped the permit-holder's cellular phone somewhere on a six block run to West Liberty Street just west of Manss Avenue. That is where the suspect dropped to the ground and was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and District Three officers were given the case.

Three people have been charged in connection with the case. Troy Hammond, 21, Tremaine Hughes, 22, and Todd Hammond are all charged with aggravated robbery. Todd Hammond was the suspect who was taken to the hospital. The other two are in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
They don't always drop when you shoot them Glad this guy was able to defend himself against 3 robbers and with only 1 gun. More proof that it's the best form of self defense against would be assailants and especially when the odds aren't in your favor.

    Neighbors applaud!

A neighborhood beaten down by crime in the last two weeks is cheering one of its own for fighting back.

Three masked men tried to rob a man on Rosemont Avenue in West Price Hill Monday night. But the trio didn't know their victim had a concealed carry permit- and was prepared to shoot.

Troy Hammond and Tremaine Hughes are charged with aggravated armed robbery. Officers say they were both shot at during the incident -- but they are not the real victims.

Police say Hammond, Hughes, and another man jumped the victim, whose name has not been released. The victim has a concealed carry permit -- and fired a shot, hitting one suspect. That suspect is still in the hospital.

The written news articles leave out the fact that 2 of the bad guys had guns and fired on the victim. This can be heard in the video from the police officer.

Too bad the bad guy didn't die. How about the interview with the perps sister? What a winner she is.

No shit. My tax dollars in this state will now have to pay for her coke dealing fiance, her and their new child. It's quite obvious they aren't positive aspects of our society. In my mind folks like that shouldn't get to live on my dime. I know it sounds insensitive, but I'd rather just flip a switch and they be gone from this country.

This is just another reason for CC, in my area of OH, we've been seeing increased breakin's, assault, and in the last year, 11 area banks have been robbed, and so far, no suspects have been caught, and this is a rural area..

My son and daughter in law live in Cinti. He was robbed at gun point coming out of kinkos late night doing work for school. The perps took his new mac laptop he had saved up for, wallet and cell. Less than one week later, some lady called and said she found his name on her new laptop and wanted to sell it back to him..

My wife and I are waiting on our ccw licenses to come through, should be early next week. I think it's imperative at these times for personal safety. I'll be carrying a pf-9 in the summer, M&P9 in the winter. Not sure about wifey yet, we are considering an lcp for her. We are typically together when we are out so it would be a bug.

What? No cautionary statement from the PD advising citizens how dangerous it is to defend yourself with a gun?

Nice work by the victim, sorry for the baby who will have to grow up in that environment.
