The Vice President made me late for work today!

I only have 2 exits from my townhouse development. I drove out one of them and it was blocked by Sheriff's vehicles. I then went to the other exit and it was backed up by traffic and I could see the direction I was going was also blocked by police vehicles. I then had to drive the opposite direction to the next town to get on the highway. I then got on the highway (PA33) and it was parked. Shorty after, a helicopter landed in the middle of the highway and picked up the Vice President from a vehicle.
I thought to myself, what a production to get a single man to a restaurant! Yes, a restaurant! There is a high end restaurant named Blue about a block away from my house and he was making some kind of speech there. This event caused a major shut down to an entire section of town. Wonder how much that cost the tax payers?

As much as I dislike the man's politics, he is a heartbeat away from the Oval Office in a time of war.

If that's what it takes to keep the continuity of command safe, then so be it.

If the only thing Joe Biden has done to you is make you late, you are way ahead of the game.....

Not that I am advocating anything, but I think the strength of a democracy is that you have well laid out transitions of power laid out. While that is true for heridity based systems too, the length of office holding is much longer there. Despots need heavy protection to keep them in power and protected from the masses. This shutting down towns and cities so they can go to fund raisers is a total PITA. If everyone affected just sent them a 5 spot for the trouble, they'd raise more money.
