I gotta call BS on this stat...what do you guys think?

Military Channel.....Weaponology is the show currently on and where i heard this blasphemy........"it took an avg. of 50,000 bullets from a M-16 to kill 1 (ONE!!!!) veitcong.

Then, next stat i would believe....."Sniper firing the M-40 was 1.3 bullets...."

50k....per vietcong......BULLLLLCRAP!

Heard it a thousand times but dont know how accurate it is.

I think that includes all the training ammo too, and based on the verifiable body count. Most of the time you never find the bodies, and if you do its nowhere near what was actually killed in total numbers.


But yeah that number does seem high.

Have to take into effect small arms fire vs. Mortars, Artillery, Grenades and Air Power.
