"Doc, can you check out this thing I got?"
-Every Marine, ever.
I just hope they bring back that fluid lean/peek from the last game. That was excellent.
...Which means they'll surely dump it for a 3rd person, walhugging cover system.
It was pretty open and non-linear as well.Relative to all of the -hold my hand down this path of cinematic moments-BS that's so common...If I wanted to watch a movie that's what I'd be doing.
At least EA isn't cause their developers to jump ship. MoH never had much interest for me (they were good, but just never 'stuck' for me), I like the CoD series more, but this one looks like it could break Modern Warfare's hold, if only for the fact that Infinity Ward is but a shell of itself now. I hope the MP is great (and realistic, not hopelessly balance oriented), cause no matter how good the Single-player is, you can only replay so many times before it becomes subconscious, just hope it's more then 10 hours, get my money's worth out of it.
These type of games are primarily made for online play. The single player campaign is just added in as a bonus, because it's not what brings in the money in todays FPS shooter market.
My main gripe with most of these first person shooters is how linear they play. You are pretty much funneled from point to point and can only advance if certain objectives are completed and in a certain order. I specially grow tired of replaying the same part of a level many times, over and over, until the "fun factor" is worn away.
With that in mind, I have to give some kudos to "Far Cry 2" and "Crysis", both are which assign objectives but allow you some freedom on how to accomplish them. Far Cry 2, in particular, is quite open-ended in this regard. Though the ending left much to be desired...
I'm with Jack-O regarding PC gaming- The platform allows for better graphics and deeper/more intricate games. Not taking advantage of this only cheapens the game and shortchanges the PC gamer.
As for the Half-Life series, it's probably been the best series created for PC FPS gaming. Excellent gameplay, graphics and story. I still load up HL2 and the subsequent addons, from time to time.

the teamwork in Counter Strike 1.6 competitive play is unmatched in any other game. << Best FPS of all time!
I'll give it a try but still NOT happy with EA.
They came out with BC2 and WTF only 5 or 5 online play maps?
If you want more you can buy with you $14.99 VIP card.
There is already map pack 2 for SALE.
COD came out all in, tons of maps and endless prizes to keep our
award winning, trophy winning gerbel minds happy.
Even KillZone took 9months before they offered additional map pack for sale and that was for those who had played the shit out of the orginal ones and were getting bored, not JUST so they could make extra
cash from the online players.
EA not only charges the most for their games but then wants you to buy more after you get it.
That said.... i'm sure i will still gamefly rent the new MoH when it comes out. lol

Hey, if any of you play BC2, we currently have a server up.
Search for "Over 30 Club . HARDCORE . FF . Ranked" in the ingame server browser (yeah, I know how well that works sometimes). We could use the traffic.
Time flies when you throw your watch.
