    Hey Marshall,

I have a .22 cal GSG5 and was wondering which of your Primary Arms optics would be a good fit, and what kind of mount would I need?

    Marshall,
I just received one of your units yesterday (great response on shipping, ordered and received in 3 days). I mounted it with the optional riser and put it on a TS .22 receiver. To get the dot anywhere close to the front sight post I am at the extreme limits of the sight adjustments windage and elevation. The dot is above the right FSB ear to shoot close to the center of the target. I know in the literature it states the sight comes optically centered. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

No argument here. "Cheap" is little more than a synonym for "more expensive over time."

You can pay a modest amount now, or considerably more later, but you can't really pay a little bit now and expect it to go the distance.

Is this a complete Tactical Solutions .22 upper? Are your irons zeroed? If they are when the irons are lines up the dot should sit close to the front post when they are lined up.

Let start with that info and figure out what is off.

    Marshall,
I am not running irons on this upper, I tried to place the dot over the front sight post, I ran out of adjustment windage and elevation. I fired COM on a target at 25 feet. Impact was 1 inch left, I adjusted 1 inch right to get COM.
Elevation: 5 inches low at 25 feet, not worried about this at this time because of off set and distance.
I have been running Aimpoint RDS's for about 10 years, usually put the dot centered on the post, and slightly above, then I only need to make minor adjustments to get the POI where it needs to be.
I will try to get to the range and sight in at 25 yards, but I have the adjustment screws out so far I was afraid the caps would not screw back on. They do. I don't remember, is there any wiggle room on mounting the sight to the base, or the base mounting to the rail?
I have the sight mounted at T10 where I mount my T-1's.

    Thanks,

I don't know how you can line up with the front post without a rear to index on. It should have been zeroed from the factory to withing a few inches but it sounds like trying to line up just on the front got you way off and maybe outside the adjustment range. It sounds like you are close but I would bore sight it at 25 yards. Take the upper off and remove the bolt. Have someone hold the upper and sight down the bore. Get it in target then adjust the dot to the same point. You will be close enough to do your normal fine tuning. If the adjustemts were damaged I will replace it.

    Marshall,
Placed upper in rifle vice, sighted through barrel 8 feet to center of telephone jack. RDS dot at top of plate 1/2 between top screw (center) and right edge of the telephone plate.

    Marshall,
Thanks for the great customer service. The new micro took minor adjustment to sight in. On a bright day I was using the #4 and #5 brightness setting. This is a great addition to my TacSol .22 upper.
