I had the privilege of training these guys back in Sept of 2000. Great bunch of guys who I have the highest respect for.

In memory of Superintendent J.J Blom (2006-07-25)

Here is another good link about the unit.

Its a British Army term of 'affection' used to describe the Germans. I add that I am half boxhead and can call some members of their military friends.

Here is the unofficial British Army Website (AARSE) find the dictionary section it lists a definition for 'Box head' Read a few of the definitions and you will gain an insight into the head of the British Fighting Man.

A Brit Para joined the Recce's, then came back and joined the SAS. He is now a successful Lawyer and writer on military matters.

A mate of mine left the Royal Military Police and travelled down to SA and joined the Police there back in the 90's.

SSA will tell you that it has all changed there - the UK has over 500,000 South Africans living there since Mandela created a newer, better SA. Corruption and nepotism is rife from the bottom up and the top down.

I got out of doing police work in '94, once Mandela become president. Everything went downhill from there and decided it was time to do without all of the political BS that came with the job.

Being instructing ever since. A lot of my friends have left SA to move to the UK or New Zealand and said that the police force is nothing like it use to be.

There is some funny stuff on that site. I Love the little known facts about the SAS

Wish that they would come to the states.

One fact they missed out is: They all learn to shave whilst wearing balaclavas so that they are always ready to go.

Cough, cough......don't know about that. Brit SF used to spend time in SA doing HALO and HAHO training - and other things. There are also a lot of SA's in the British Army now, some of them have bought previous experience with them and are appropriately employed.

It ain't easy to get in, I know several in the UK who would love to come over. It took me, a friendly Brit, a few years to get my permission to come over.
