You know, it makes me want to get out my picture of the Queen, wear my medals and wings and then cry with joy.

As one who was weaned on the L1A1 (Brit FAL) I love 7.62mm. Once again a working soldier can scare the crap out of people who normally give the finger to 5.56mm.

I have had some feedback on the LMT and so far people are very happy with it.

All my LMT dealers acutally laughed at me when I called them for availability. I then called lmt and they told me that they won't ship out to my dealers till about august...

The quick and cheap option is to buy a FAL.

Don't larf people. In the Brit Mil you got assigned a weapon on arrival at a unit. As the average squaddie you cleaned, polished and oiled it every week and got to fire it for classification ONCE a year. If you were lucky you went thru a practice shoot and then the classification shoot...........A classification shoot was 48 rounds down the barrel, so a grand total of 96 rounds a year used to pass thru the majority of L1A1's. Which makes them veritable bargain.

Quick range report:

Fired 50 rounds of WWB 147gr FMJ at 100yards with Aimpoint CompM4 and 3x magnifier. I am reasonably certain that with a better long-distance optic setup and decent ammo, this gun will be shooting MOA or better...I had one 5-shot group that was just over 1 MOA. I really want to prove it out with some 10-shot groups.

I had a couple FTFeed's with the supplied metal magazine where the bolt did not pick up the next round. That was during the first 10 round string of fire, and did not occur again. I fired the last 10 rounds from a PMag, no issues.

I realize that this isn't much of a report, but I was very short on time, and hopefully it's better than nothing.

Where oh where is my LMT 308....
Nightforce 2.5x210, Larue mount, Vickers sling, Pmags, and Harris bipod with the Larue mount, but no rifle. Mine was to ship on May 10, but the Britts hosed me for a while...just waiting now
