I have been doing a mix of Sealfit and Military Athlete for 2 years now.
I have had awesome results in the areas I wanted.
It is my understanding the creators of both programs actually work together and are very similar in nature.
Another great resource is "Military Fitness" by Nate Morrison.

I have no idea what there connection is, but I do know that all of the instructors at sealfit and uscrossfit are ex-seals. Sealfit is just a site they put out for those interested in dawning a wet suit. Uscrossfit is an actual facility with scheduled classes etc. etc. Both post WOD and are F-ing awesome! Militaryathlete.com is also a great site as yousaid and I have been there once. They have a great spin on workouts. Either way, you can loss. body weight exercises are the way to go these days for success in a tactical enviornment!
Do not get me wrong, they serve their place.
However a major aspect of the Military/ "Tactical Athlete" is load carriage. I have yet to see how body weight exercises help much with this.
THis is why IMHO, you must have a mix of body weight exercises along with alot of "lifting heavy things, repeatedly"exercises.

Don't ask how many guns I have. You should be more concerned with which one I am proficient at!

That works.
I am a huge proponent of Nate Morrisons concept of "training motions".
If you break it down and analyze just what it is that the military athlete needs to do in terms of the movements and motions he does, a weight vest can be very benificial.
An example. Pullups with a weight vest. I love the pullup. However in an actual environment how often is there going to be a bar you have to pull your chin above. So for me I alternate between the classic pullups and doing a muscle up variant on a chunk of 4x4. This helps to mimic climbing over a wall. This is done with a weight vest.
The application of heavier weight training and more specific exercises is to increase the end users durability and make them harder to kill/injure.
