Centreville, VA here.
Centreville, VA here.
A few years ago when my son was about to start at James Madison University, we attended a new student orientation. The lady from admissions conducted an informal poll on the audience of parents and students to get an idea of where everyone was from... She started with the Great State of Northern Virginia! What's up with that??? FWIW, he and we love it down there...
South Riding checking in..........
We need to get a group togather and head back up to the Grove for some fun and Blasting........

Fredericksburg here.
Western Hanover here -- 10 minutes from Cavalier Rifle and Pistol, for those who know that fine establishment.
Escaped from NOVA lo these many 19 years ago now......never looked back.
That's interesting. We escaped from Kalifornia to NoVA a few years ago and haven't looked back, but I can see how it's all relative.
I'd love to love to have some property in a less developed area than here-- part of the future plans...
And that's a great pic from a great movie

Alexandria, VA here! Though my host range is in culpeper .. I am a frequent customer at sharpshooters near exit 166 on 95. Need my range time in!
Arlington between Ballston and Clarendon for the time being.

Welcome to the Old Dominion! And I'd say definitely a move for-the-better.
Virginia is incredibly diverse for a state of its size, so there is a lot to choose from if your are able to get a good job where you want to live. My situation near Richmond has worked out well. Tidewater is just as bad as NOVA as far as congestion, but the cost of living is less and there's lots of great fishing and boating. My true heart is in the mountains though -- pretty much "came of age" in the Blue Ridge. Am currently getting psyched about going to spend a few days way down around Mount Rogers later this year.

Man, I'm an idiot; I keep forgetting about Sharpshooters after having gone there for the first time a number of weeks back.
It's not the NRA, but it's a shorter drive for me that makes more sense on weekdays and is a better overall facility than The Range in Stafford/Fredericksburg.
