+1 I could care less one way or the other....now if you are a good driver ..no tickets in the last 5 years and the current violation does not endanger anyone ...you get a warning whether you a permit holder or not.
I had an out of state pemit holder speeding 75/60, DUI (.182) with his two under 10 year old children as passengers....... can you say child endangerment, along with carrying weapons while intoxicated.
Each stop is different and is treated as such
Well, I had a bad experience with the Surfside Police Dept. a couple years ago. Surfside is just north of Miami Beach. I called to file a report for someone keying a line across the side of my car while I was working there. Two officers arrived. When one of them asked for my driver's license, I also handed him my CCW permit as I was told before in a training class that I was supposed to. So that they would feel safer, they told me to put my hands on the car so that they could remove my Glock and unload it. One of them was cool about it, but the other officer as well as a third who arrived said I should not have been armed when calling in for police officers to respond. One of them said that before I informed them I was carrying, if I scratched my back and accidentally exposed my gun, that he would have shot me. It seemed that informing them I was armed made a bigger deal than of my car being vandalized. I later went and complained to the sergeant at the station, but ended up not filing a formal complaint. Suffice to say, I stopped informing officers that I was CCW after that incident, unless they asked.
Thats sucks. Sounds like a major case of JBT or "badge head". YOu were obviously not a threat. Disarming you was wrong IMHO. I would have had a hard time not telling that JBT to shove it.
