nolacopusmc,
I'll be very brief. You say that military guys probably don't want to hear all the specs, etc... because they are limited as to what they can use. I'll say that this assertion is actually false.
I have had many active duty personnel come to me in theater asking for my opinion on certain things (primarily M4's) and they actually want to know the details. Many of them had no clue what HP/ MPI testing meant, nor did they know about torquing, etc...
Certain military units have do in fact make private purchases of uppers and bring them with on deployments. I have seen this first hand.
Many of these guys are also looking to get M4's and other gear for personal use when they are not on the clock.

True. Again though, nothing about the video was geared to special ops units. Also, I am sure you would agree, even with those guys it is unit purchases, not individual soldiers or marines purchasing personal weapons for full-time combat use. While that will happen, that is definitely not the norm and does not even statistically impact this discussion about a production type rifle.
You took it a little out of context as the other guy was trying to equate the info i presented with what weapons and ammo operation units use in theater,.\\
Apples and oranges.
the fact that people who happen to be in the military also purchase personal weapons kinda goes without saying...but thanks for saying it. LOL
However, like you and I think grant said, most LEO and MIL guys are not "gun guys" like many here are. To them it is just a necessary tool to perform a job and take no personal interest ion it outside of that scope. To them it is no different than a hammer.
It was neither my intent nor did I have the time in the project to do a full detailed itemized review of the rifle...though I agree that info is an important part of a purchasing decision for most.

I can see that you just like to argue. No, I specifically mean military personnel in units that I have worked with bought and used their own uppers. Though it may not be the norm, it happens.
Though many are not gun guys, they do like to learn and they like the info. This is how they eventually become gun guys.

I think nolacop had good intentions with his review and wasn't trying to dupe anyone. This was his first review. I think he learned something tonight and we will see an improvement in his review process in the future.

The video was posted by Spikes on TOS.
