My Spike's 16" midlength 1/7" upper fired its first shot yesterday. I thought I'd keep a log of the round count here for posterity. This was at a range, not in a class or after being dipped in mud or anything. This rifle will eventually see classes, however. This is a franken-rifle, built on a DS lower with DS LPK. All other parts are ST or Magpul.

    Fired 500 rounds this session:
    150 Wolf 62gr
    100 Wolf 55gr
    100 Fiochi
    100 Norinco
    50 TAP 75gr

There were zero failures or malfunctions of any kind. The latter ~half of the rounds were fired in relatively rapid succession. Mags were Pmags and 'C products'. Accuracy was shooter limited (no bench shooting, all standing).

ETA: I forgot to mention, I'll be running this for about 2500 rounds without cleaning, but I will lube it between sessions. If there's no malfs by then, however, I'll probably just keep running for double that.

I am not real worried about having to apologize, as it has been well over 2 month with no certs.

We interrupt this programme to bring you an important news bulletin: the suspect in the Happy Times All-Girl Glee Club slaying has fled the scene and has managed to elude the police. He is armed and dangerous, and has been spotted in the West Side area, armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other...

I fired a hodge-podge of ammo through my T&E Spike's yesterday with one failure to extract in 180 rounds slow-fire from the bench. It was a Wolf 62 grain which I have come to expect the occasional stuck case from.

Rounds fired were Fed XM193, Prvi XM193, Wofl XM193 (really just Prvi re-badged), Wolf 55, 62, and 75 grain, Barnaul 62 grain and Brown Bair 62 grain (IIRC just re-badged Barnaul).

Just spoke with Daniel Defense Technical support and they confirmed that every single/individual barrel that comes out of their factory, be it a barrel only, an upper receiver only, or a complete rifle; is HPT & MPI tested. THe website is a bit lacking in the descriptions; but they are GTG!
    No speculating there...

Yep, already know that. Had an e-mail into them last week and got answer the same day.

I must have missed your post on this thread stating such information... I'm still not seeing it?

Wouldn't have wasited the time calling them otherwise.

Just setting the record straight on this thread regarding DD's barrel testing.

We did not post it. This is a thread about Spikes Tactical, not DD. If someone would have started a thread about DD, I would have shared what I learned.

Their LE line is not Hammer Forged. Their none LE line uses the DD Hammer Forged barrel (which is not HPT).

I guess I'm not following your logic here Grant...

The question of DD's testing arose from a specific rifle (as you state above in a past post in this thread; the non- LE versions come with DD barrels) spikes offers with a DD barrel; did it not? So it is relevant to this thread as it was argued by you and others the testing that DD may or may not conduct on specific item configurations they sell. Without the confirmation of these tests and the fact that DD does in fact conduct them on every single barrel; there was missing information pertinent to this specific thread, and significant to the questions/answers posted herein; IMHO.

No, the the question was asked about Spike LE barrels being Hammer Forged. So I corrected the poster. I did not bring DD anything into the conversation.

It is true that I posted what it said via DD website and brought up the fact that there was different info posted throughout their site.

Going into DD in this thread was off topic and had nothing to do with it. This is why I CHOSE to not derail the thread any more with what I learned (which is what is happening right now).

If you have any further info about DD you would like to share with me, feel free to e-mail it or PM it to me.
