Now ya'll got me wondering....

If I've already got a Spikes lower and stripped upper, is there that much difference in performance If I'm fitting it with a Centurion CHF and BCM BCG?

Speaking as someone who was just in the same situation, last Tuesday I finally pulled the proverbial trigger. I went to see Grant, and after discussing everything with him (Grant couldn't have been more helpful, or patient answering every question I had. He really knows his stuff) he built me a BCM mid-length 16" lightweight upper on a BCM lower with a Magpul MOA grip, standard mid-length handguards, a Magpul BUIS and five PMags all assembled with a good hour of basic AR education for under $1200. I had the opportunity to shoot about 500 rounds of a variety of ammo through it on Friday, and it gobbled up everything I could feed it with only one failure to eject using the cheap Tula (500 rounds for $114 with plastic ammo box from Cabelas) ammo. I was really impressed with the accuracy and handling of my BCM and would recommend it without hesitation. I know there are many more experienced and knowledgeable people here than myself, but I just thought I'd share my personal experience. If you do choose to go with the BCM you would be hard pressed to find a better shop than G&R.

Check out AIM, you can get a Daniel Defense M4 for $999 and a cold hammer forged barrel with that price. Hard to beat!

Okay, here's my final decision:

BCM Standard 16" Upper w/ BCM BCG, BCM Charging Handle - $580
Cavalry Arms C8 Handguard - $30
Troy Rear Battlesight - $120
Spike's Complete Lower - $275
Pmags - $42

~$1100 after all shipping and fees.

And to avoid changing my mind again, I am going to order everything for the upper in about 12 hours! And then Ill just have to get the complete lower on 4/15 when I get the rest of my funds.

Just the lower has to be shipped to a FFL correct?

I put a BCM upper on a Spikes lower. To this day I think it was a dang good choice. Just as pretty as my wife but cheaper and with no FTFs. I'd be happy sleeping with either one but my won't let the AR 15 in bed with us.
